Why Would A Lawyer Intentionally Lose A Case?

The cases fell like ducks in a row. It was horrible to watch this. The clients would cry. They were depressed. “The judge said you don’t have a case,” he’d say. And he’d keep the money.

Why would a lawyer deliberately lose a lawsuit?

Because he doesn’t want to finance it under terms of his own retainer. And he makes more with these $10,000 retainers than he would selling used cars.

It happens.
