Вчера губернатор Флориды Десантис подписал три законопроекта, меняющих преподавание с 1 июля сего года. Далее следуют цитаты из законов (изменения оригинального билля подчёркнуты).
Законопроект HB5: "Three credits in social studies.—A student must earn one credit in United States History; one credit in World History; one-half credit in economics; and one-half credit in United States Government, which must include a comparative discussion of political ideologies, such as communism and totalitarianism, that conflict with the principles of freedom and democracy essential to the founding principles of the United States."
Законопроект SB1108: "Beginning with students initially entering a Florida College System institution or state university in the 2021-2022 school year and thereafter, each student must demonstrate competency in civic literacy by achieving a passing score on an assessment and by successfully completing a civic literacy course. ... The chair of the State Board of Education and the chair of the Board of Governors, or their respective designees, shall jointly appoint a faculty committee to:
1.(a) Develop one or more new courses in civic literacy or revise an existing general education core course in American History or American Government to include, at a minimum, opportunities to engage synchronously in political 397 discussions and civil debates with multiple points of view and to master the ability to synthesize information that informs civic decisionmaking." Законопроект HB233: "(b) The State Board of Education shall require each Florida College System institution to conduct an annual assessment of the intellectual freedom and viewpoint diversity at that institution. The State Board of Education shall select or create an objective, nonpartisan, and statistically valid survey to be used by each institution which considers the extent to which competing ideas and perspectives are presented and members of the college community, including students, faculty, and staff, feel free to express their beliefs and viewpoints on campus and in the classroom. The State Board of Education shall annually compile and publish the assessments by September 1 of each year, beginning on September 1, 2022. The State Board of Education may adopt rules to implement this paragraph.
(c) The State Board of Education may not shield students, faculty, or staff at Florida College System institutions from free speech protected under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, Art. I of the State Constitution, or s. 1004.097."

Date: 2021-06-23 08:59 pm (UTC)I tend to agree. That's why yesterday my son did not go to school, but was tutored by a friend. And my daughters studied with my wife. The experience we had with the oldest was enough. And that was more than 5 years ago in Israel.
