Note that he never mentions Israel. IOW, this is a wonderful non-answer - it can be interpreted both as "the State of Israel should have been welcomed" and as "Jews should have been welcomed as Dhimmis". Neither was realistic by 1948. I need to learn how to BS my way out of a tight spot like this.
PS. In my experience, quora is good for asking (idiotic) questions, and getting a bunch of (usually stupid/irrelevant answers) while stackexchange is good for finding relevant answers to questions asked by others (but you have to _work_ on the question, not just throw a bunch of words at the service).
