The Myth of Pervasive Misogyny

Many feminists and progressives argue that the West is plagued by pervasive misogyny. In fact, this claim is made with such frequency, and is so rarely challenged, that it has become part of the Left’s catechism of victimhood, repeated by rote without a second thought. The only real question is how powerful and pernicious the misogyny is. [...] The best data from contemporary social science tell a rather different story and suggest that the very persistence of the pervasive misogyny narrative is itself a manifestation of the opposite: society is largely biased in favor of women.

Хм... Это однако не так. Мне стоило некоторых усилий понять, что то, что могу поднять я, моя прекрасная жена поднять не может. Точнее сперва я думал, что мы равны в возможностях, а галантность, это просто галантность. Потом ушла галантность. А потом я просто понял, что она ломается там, где я просто делаю то, что надо, пусть это даже поднять мешок со строительной смесью. Или передёрнуть затвор. И с тех пор я не то что бы вежлив, я просто эту простую особенность учитываю.

Из чего я делаю такой вывод: все наше воспитание нам дано, чтобы защищать дам, которые сами не способны сделать то, что нам легко. Нам, дебилам, легко, а им нет. И пока это очень простое понимание не придет, работает воспитание. А потом работает понимание.

А потом приходит понимание, что это касается не только и не столько физических возможностей. Наши милые дамы не могут не только поднять мешок картошки, но даже и принять реальность. Это на самом деле куда более тяжелый груз. Чтож поделать, мы тягловые животные, таков путь.

Это нормально и естественно.
